This winning competition entry features a tiny 'backyard home' designed for an imaginary character: Dave. Dave, a young adult and food enthusiast, suffers from an anxiety disorder amplified as a result of the sporadic, precarious circumstances of pandemic life. His new backyard home, located on his parent's property, is designed as an oasis to promote his mental and physical well-being while respecting his autonomy and independence. Equipped with outdoor gardens, a greenhouse, and a spacious kitchen, Dave is able to enjoy a lifestyle of cooking, gardening, and sharing special meals with his parents nearby - aiding him in his journey of healing.
