Metabolism
Located at the water’s edge of Tommy Thompson Park in Toronto, Ontario, Metabolism is a mixed-use, timber-framed building designed for evolution and adaptation. Inspired by the elegant composition of a tree, its form is composed of a core arm which bridges land and lake, with a dynamic structural grid system overlaid atop. The panelized glulam superstructure acts as a catalyst of architectural flexibility, designed to expand or contract elementally with ease while supporting a range of infill panels that can be configured to frame varying programmatic opportunities.
