The Arctic Workshop
The Arctic Workshop is a trades-based post-secondary school and research centre serving the Nunavik region of northern Quebec. Its design responds to a broader mission of combating the dire housing crisis faced by the communities of Inuit Nunangat today. Understanding that the longer-term success of the Inuit people begins with safe and secure housing, the Arctic Workshop aims to educate the Inuit community about the design, construction, and maintenance of northern housing in order to increase local knowledge base and provide the skills needed to ameliorate the housing situation.
